Seeking Victory In Your Life
Have you ever wondered why at times
some people seemed to attract bad situations in their lives?
when bad things happen to Christians. We don't have to have bad things
happening to us. Sometimes when a situation arises, you may feel
powerless to do anything. You have lost your job and all the bills are
starting to come in. The first thing that comes to your mind is how your
going to pay these bills. How are you going to make the car payment or
the mortgage payment?
Did you know what Jesus really did at the cross? His death made you a righteous person before God the Father. And because if this, He made you just like Him - perfect. You may not see yourself perfect, but God sees you perfect and without sin. He sees you through the blood of Jesus that saturates you from head to toes.
Because of Jesus' sacrifice, you are made in the image of Christ and everything that the Father gave Jesus He also gives you. That makes you a joint-heir with Jesus. So if Jesus is the King of kings then what does that make you? That makes you a King as well. Look at Romans 8:17; "and if children, then heirs--heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together." (NKJV)
As a child of God you are ordained as an ambassador of the Kingdom of God through Christ Jesus. Jesus was an ambassador sent by God the Father to fulfill the will of the Father. God also chose you and sent you to get trained up in the word of God so that you can do the business of the Kingdom of God, and that is saving souls for Jesus.
POWER AND AUTHORITY OVER YOUR LIFE
When Jesus walked on the earth, he had power and authority over His life. He had full control of His surroundings. The laws of physics did not apply to Him. He had control over the laws of physics. And so do you. Look at Galatians 4:7; "Now you are no longer a slave but God's own child. And since you are his child, everything he has belongs to you." (NLT)
You see Jesus, gave you power over circumstances also. Look at Mark 16:17-18; "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; v18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.: " (NKJV)
Jesus gave us the power over our own life. We have the power to change the circumstances in our life.
THE COST OF VICTORY
If you want real victory over circumstances in your life day after day and year after year. Then you'll need to makes some changes in your life and stick to it. And I'm not talking about changes that are temporary. I'm talking about changes that are permanent. It's what we call "paying the price." If you look at Romans 8:17, the end part that says; " if indeed we suffer with Him." Do you realize what that means? Jesus had paid the price by putting aside His own agenda and did what was the will of His Father.
It cost Him something. It cost Him His
life. But the Father richly blessed Him in return.
If you want victory in your life, then it's going to cost you
something. For example, you may be watching your favorite T.V. show
instead of reading your Bible. You may give up your hockey night to go
to the mission to feed the homeless. The point is it will cost you
something if you want God to give you victory. Look at Mark 8:34; "Then he called his disciples and the crowds to come over and listen. "If any of you wants to be my follower, " he told them, "you must put aside your selfish ambition, shoulder your cross, and follow me." (NLT)
That is paying the price. That's when Christ comes first and you become second.
THE SECRET TO VICTORY
God has shown me these basic principles and they work. I've overcame unsurpassable odds in my life and won the battles. Because Jesus is the solution to my problems and He's the solution to your problem as well.
Jesus is the only way out and He knows every possible avenues of escape. Start trusting Him regardless of what it looks like. Never give up regardless. He promise us in His word that He will never leave us or forsake us. God is no liar. Just trust Him.
